It’s not in romanticising

His verses with big words
Or getting the rhyme
To near perfection
Or articulating the beauty
Of pretty things in sight
Or synthesising his thoughts
Into a strict word limit

But the need for his reader
To delve into the depths
Unknown even to himself;
Between words and phrases
That seem so unassuming;
The seemingly effortless ability
That draws every ounce
Of creativity and energy
Of his very pained soul
That is the mark of a true poet.
