Never And Always

“I will never leave you.”
“I will always be there.”
Always and Never,
Have lost their meaning,
Or maybe that’s what
They were always meant for.
To give false hope,
To build relationships upon lies,
And fake promises.

If, “Promises are made to be broken,”
Then I am sorry,
I must have applied for a different world.
I must have applied for a world,
Which isn’t a facade.
I must have applied for a world,
Where people speak what lies in their hearts.
I must have applied for a world,
Which isn’t built upon synthetic emotions.

I tried to keep my end of Always,
Rather too desperately, I think.
I held tightly, what was left of you,
In my hands, but it fell,
Bit by bit, and I saw you,
Sliding away, into that swift stream.
I think your Forever ended too soon.
I too must sleep now,
And hope that I awaken,
Into a world devoid of Never,
And Always.
