C’est La Vie
He ignited in her a raging fire,
In the most unexpected way,
She, who had a firm hold over her emotions,
Became undone, because of him…
He, who was lost, and closed,
To love and its consequences,
Having had enough of its impediments,
Wanted to change his heart’s way…
When they were together, they left dazzling fireworks,
Everywhere, for the world to see,
And stand in awe of the unfolding endearment,
Envious, of what they possessed.
His fervent thoughts for her,
Left him perplexed and hesitant,
For him, uncertainty had always bee
An old friend, and his favorite nemesis.
Her sensibility grew muddled,
As days passed, her thoughts congested,
With him and only him,
Her mind, anchored to him.
Their reassuring hand squeeze,
And the secret smiles, the shy looks,
And their moments of weakness,
Was all that she could fathom.
In an inevitable oblivion, a love like this
You hold onto, firm and sure,
For it is not in the stars to hold our destinies,
But in ourselves.
